New York City, Day One

New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of There's nothin' you can't do Now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new... What are YOU talkin' bout Jay-Z?? Hold up. Scratch the record. Did Jay-Z go to New York with kids? Okay, so the lights did inspire me, but after a couple five days in the big city, I did not, in fact, feel brand new. But what an adventure we had! The irony after spending all that time and money is that our kids liked camping the next weekend much better, but we left with memories that will last a lifetime. Here's a look at what we did... After flying into La Guardia (cab fare: $45-$60), which is the closest airport for Manhattan, we went straight to our hotel, the Sheraton New York, just off Times Square. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Because of the young ages of our children, six and eight, I was hesitant to stay immediately in Times Square and this hotel proved to be the perfect location (es...

Almost 2 years

Next week, Rowan will be 23 months old. As he approaches two years I am just overcome with so many emotions. I absolutely adore him. We are busy preparing for the arrival of little Miss Arden. When I think I have everything together, I dream up new things to do for her. I have a check up on Monday to find out if my body is progressing towards labor day. I hope so, it means I will be able to induce. Scott has a crazy schedule in June and induction will work best for our family. Otherwise, Scott may not be there for her birth. I am about to get my hair highlighted and done, so I am excited to take a breather this afternoon and get ready for a fun weekend.

Anticipating Arden

I have been in pink banana land anticipating our little girl! I am so excited about having both a boy and a girl. What a blessing! Here are some photos of the beginnings of her room. (Please do not begin to send me all things pink flamingo - this is not the beginning of a collection, simply a cute icon that I wanted to include in her painting).
